BIREME celebrates its 43 years and new institutional framework

On April 15th, 2010, BIREME/PAHO/WHO will held a commemorative event to celebrate its 43 years with special attention to its new institutional framework approved by the Governing Bodies of the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) in 2009, after a nearly five-year process.

The new statute reiterates the importance of the BIREME’s mission operating for 43 years in favor of the organization and the dissemination of scientific health information, as well as Brazil’s contribution to its maintenance and development.

Launch of the book "Network of Collaborating Centers of PAHO/WHO: potentialities and perspectives"
This activity is lead by PAHO/WHO Representative Brazil in cooperation with BIREME. The event will be broadcast by Web to the countries in the region.
      
NECOBELAC Course
This event is in context for the NECOBELAC project, which relies on BIREME’s participation along with the following institutions: Istituto Superiore di Sanità (ISS), Universidade do Minho, Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Consejo Superior de Investigación Científica (CSIC) and The University of Nottingham. 30 participants from Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Uruguay are expected.

BVS Brazil Technical Committee Meeting

This meeting will have the participation of member from institutions that are part of the Virtual Health Library Brazil (VHL) Technical Committee. The meeting will be focused on two main themes: (1) VHL Brazil Sustainability, and (2) Criteria of the VHL certification.
